NAÏVE presents a sound collage made from field recordings of the beach at Le Havre in the north and at Marseille in the south of France. Aside from being cut, the ocean recordings were not processed; only some low frequency tones have been added. The installation was presented in a cellar with a vaulted ceiling that amplified the sound from the small speakers. The sound of the installation mixed with the ambient sound of the building’s plumbing system.
